Happy 15th birthday, Maile!

  Happy 15th birthday, Maile!

guest blogger:  Mom

This is the first year that I didn't plan a birthday party for Maile . . . guess that's what happens when you get older.  Maile celebrated with school friends at Defy, a ninja-warrior/trampoline/crazy slide type of place on an early release day.

Grandma Paulina also made Maile a special early birthday dinner of banh trang and spoiled her with gifts.  Birthday dessert was a brookie with ice cream, by request.

For Maile's birthday eve, she went out to a sushi dinner with friends, attended a comedy improv show with them, and then had a sleepover (guess you're never too old for that). For the actual birthday day, Maile gets to celebrate with her birthday twin friend, Kirsten, who is coming to town for the weekend, plus a couple of other friends for brunch. Happy 15th, Maile!  We hope it was exactly what you wanted for your birthday celebration!

Maile,

At the age of 15, you seem so grown up.  You are almost finished with your first year of high school, having kept busy with dance team, studio dance, school, theater, and friends.  You are still a night owl, sleeping in until the PM hours on the weekends! You are also still a person who loves hard, caring deeply about your friends and making connections with others.

You've managed your school load incredibly well - enjoying leadership and theater classes and looking for more challenges in the future. We loved watching you do what you loved this year by acting on stage and also performing at dance competitions.  You've stayed close with your middle school friends, as you are all in high school together.  You've also branched out and met new friends at school and stayed close with others outside of school.

I can't wait to see what this next year brings with your driver's permit, your first job that isn't an entrepreneur role, and continued growth in all that you do.

We love you so much and are proud to have you as our daughter!
