We were invited to celebrate a two-year-old's birthday in Kauai for a week! It was a wonderful trip that we will remember for a very long time. We took over 200 pics, so here are just a few to help us remember.
Upon arrival, we found a bag with custom shirts and beach towels - including a personalized one for Maile.
Checking out the beach view from the lawn
Maile enjoyed being on the "Red Flames" team for the mini-Olympics that was held on the property. She had fun with events like the three-legged race, pie in the face, water balloon launching, etc.
Pool time!
One of Maile's favorite things about the trip was having three teenage boys to play with all week long. Two of them are seen here - engrossed in an episode of My Little Pony before dinner with Maile.
We were all able to ride horses for about an hour around the property on a tour of the grounds. Maile did so great on her own horse!
Even on the night of the actual birthday party, she had a hard time putting her book down.
Maile and Aaron enjoying the view of the hula show for the party
Maile was a little nervous to get the pic with the fire dancers, but they promised to point the flames away from her.
We made several friends during the week while at the ranch. In this pic, Maile was making up a story about sea animals and acting it out with Dea.
Maile is hanging at the surf shack before the big movie night on the lawn.
She's enjoying the first part of the movie (a slideshow production of pics from the weekend), right between two of her favorite teenagers, before watching the feature We Bought a Zoo.
On a steep hike - Maile was a trooper again!!
The view from the top of the hike - right before the clouds burned off.
On a "mule" ride of the property - off roading . . .
. . . to get to this view!
Learning to make sushi from Chef Danny
As we were leaving the ranch, we were given this specially carved piece of driftwood, which sums it up perfectly. If I seem a bit distracted, it's because in my mind, I have gone back to Papa'a Bay Ranch.
