Palm Springs

Everyone said we were crazy for going to Palm Springs in August. We knew it would be hot, but we didn't know that the weather would be at near-record temps. It's okay - it was totally worth it! We had so much fun going with Grandma Paulina, Uncle Mike, Aunt Cristina and Cousins Brandon and Mia.

Maile loved having her cousins around for the week.
She seemed to really like the palm trees. : )

It's tough to get a posed picture of the three of them.

Golf cart rides at the hotel were a great way to beat the heat from walking.

We spent one day in much cooler temps . . . maybe in the 80s?? We rode a tram 2.5 miles up to experience the cooler weather and the scenery.

Maile and Grandma taking a break for a pose.

Maile saw this and said, "I want to go sit on that tree potty!"

What is a hike without a walking stick?

We were definitely in the middle of nature. A squirrel was right at home running through the restaurant for scraps.

Most of our time was spent by the pool. In the water, you'd have no idea that it was 117 degrees outside. As usual, Maile took on the heat to work on sticker books.

The place had a great lazy river, but Maile was totally into "swimming" this time.

It's always sad when it's time to go home. At least she enjoyed the ride to the airport!

Love the photo of Brandon pulling her face in for a close-up! Looks like you all had fun.
